A manner of speaking

Another post, another flash fiction published. My little story is called In a manor, and you can read it with thanks to Crow & Cross Keys, which is a gorgeous online journal, where each story, poem or flash is hauntingly illustrated with black and white photography.

My submission rate has slowed after my extended Easter break, and there was almost two weeks without any rejections or acceptances, no matter how often I hit refresh on Submittable or my emails. That’s the ebb and flow of the writing year. In this creative cycle there are seasons of mellow fruitfulness and seasons of a bit less fruitfulness and more time with foster kittens and work. I’m not under any obligation to anyone but myself to be more or less productive in my writing life, so I have written when I could, and submitted a new poem yesterday. Much like I will continue.
