In May, the good people at Gastropoda published two of my poems, which were Country Garden and Mapping Beneath. A little earlier there was also a call out to contributors to answer a few questions about their work for a series called Lifting the Log. I had completely forgotten about this. Anyway, today Gastropoda published my thoughts on Mapping Beneath. You can visit the site here if delving into my thoughts on the creation of this poem is something you might be interested in. It was a welcome surprise, considering I was thinking July would go by without a publication credit.
In terms of my own writing there are still other things to definitely come out this year, and a poem accepted for next year. Of course, there are still submissions I’m waiting back on as per usual, and the rejections are slowly rolling in, also as per usual, but the pending pool has shrunk.
Steady as she goes, the 2022 writing update:
- Rejections: 145
- Pending: 22
- Acceptances by publisher: 23
- Acceptances by work: 33
- Published: 31
